GraduateCenterLMU Mini Workshop for Doctoral Candidates
When planning a manuscript of a scientific paper, doctoral candidates often feel overwhelmed by the complexity of the task which may lead to lack of motivation and procrastination. This may be due to several reasons, such as insufficient knowledge regarding structure conventions, problems with developing a storyline or uncertainty about how to start planning such a complex writing project.
To overcome these obstacles, this workshop addresses structure conventions in the field of Life Sciences and focuses on specifying the research question as a starting point for the development of a coherent storyline. Throughout the workshop, participants get to know strategies which facilitate the planning process of a scientific paper. They will then have the opportunity to do exercises on their ongoing writing and/or research projects.
Workshop topics:
- Structure conventions of scientific papers
- Strategies to specify the research question and the aim of the study
- Strategies and tools for planning the structure of a scientific paper
Language of workshop: English
Target group: Doctoral candidates of LMU Munich from the Life Sciences (the number of participants is limited)
Certificate of attendance: Participants will receive a certificate of attendance from the GraduateCenterLMU.
