GraduateCenterLMU Workshop for Doctoral Candidates
The one-week event is intended to offer doctoral candidates the opportunity to deal constructively with typical challenges that arise while working on a doctoral project. Experienced trainers from the EUGLOH partners in Munich, Lund, Hamburg and Tromsø, all of whom are active in the supervision of doctoral candidates, offer instructive input on relevant topics such as motivation, productivity, communication, supervision, good scientific practice and the question ‘What could come after the doctorate’.
All sessions are run interactively to encourage mutual exchange of experience, reflection and interaction.
Workshop topics:
- My PhD Project: Dream Big! Motivation and Goals - doctoral candidates learn to set ambitious goals and pursue their research with motivation and vision.
- Being S.M.A.R.T.: Personal Productivity, Work Packages, and Creativity - doctoral candidates optimize their work using S.M.A.R.T. goals and foster creativity.
- Communication & Collaboration - doctoral candidates develop skills for effective communication and reflect collaboration in interdisciplinary teams.
- Shaping Supervision - doctoral candidates learn how to shape their supervision actively and understand the importance of good academic guidance.
