Starting your doctorate – where and how to begin? These and many other questions arise at the onset of a doctoral project. In this lecture practical advice will be given to ease the beginning of what probably will be the largest project the participants had to manage so far. Among the topics discussed are supervision, time and project management as well as some experience-based values on how to start a successful doctorate.
