GraduateCenterLMU Workshop for Doctoral Candidates
"I do not have enough time for all my tasks", "I am stressed out when I look at my to-do list", "I am always busy but never get to the tasks that really matter" - many doctoral candidates have thoughts like these. This workshop provides help: Participants develop a new individual habit that makes them more productive, thus increasing a feeling of fulfillment.
Across the workshop day, participants select a new self- or time-management habit and develop a plan how to reliably implement this in their daily life. Therefore, they are first introduced to standard time management tools. Participants then select the tools relevant to their individual challenges and adapt them to their needs. Furthermore, they practice prioritizing tasks and avoiding to commit to too many tasks. At the end of the workshop, participants will have developed an individual plan tailored to their own needs and challenges on how to improve their self- or time-management.
Workshop topics:
- Develop a new habit to support the implementation of an individual self- or time-management tool (e.g. Eisenhower principle)
- Learn to categorize challenges to self- and time-management
- Identify personal needs and values, and a long-term vision. Prioritize short-term goals and tasks accordingly
- Train to say "no" to new tasks
Language of Workshop: English
Target group: Doctoral candidates of LMU Munich (the number of participants is limited)
Certificate of attendance: Participants will receive a certificate of attendance from the GraduateCenterLMU.
