GraduateCenterLMU Workshop for Doctoral Candidates
When planning and writing a scientific paper, doctoral candidates often feel overwhelmed by the complexity of the task which may lead to lack of motivation and procrastination. This may be due to several reasons, such as insufficient knowledge of structure conventions, problems with developing a storyline or uncertainty about how to start planning such a complex writing project.
To overcome these obstacles, this workshop addresses structure conventions in the field of Life Sciences and focuses on specifying the research question as a starting point for the development of a coherent storyline. In addition, the workshop presents strategies to get started with writing, to optimize the individual writing process and to integrate regular writing into day-to-day research life.
Throughout the workshop, you will have the opportunity to exercise planning and writing techniques on their ongoing writing and/or research projects.
Workshop topics:
- Structure conventions of scientific texts
- Specifying the research question of experimental and empirical studies
