Application for the Class of Language
Graduate School Language & Literature: Class of Language
The systematically structured doctoral program addresses highly qualified graduates in Linguistics who wish to obtain a doctoral degree in a research-oriented and interdisciplinary environment. Professors from 13 linguistic disciplines represent a broad and inter-related range of theoretical positions, methodological approaches and practical orientation. Doctoral dissertations include general linguistic and comparative approaches, investigating specific languages (synchronic or historic), as well as studying texts and discourses regarding their institutional context, social significance and impact on language. An enriching program of (guest) lectures, tutorials, symposia workshops and doctoral colloquia fosters the exchange between professors, doctoral candidates as well as leading international experts. The program is actively involved in collaborating with other universities by for example offering double degrees. International applications are welcome.
