Application for the Class of Language Education
Graduate School Language & Literature: Class of Language Education
The doctoral program offers a research-oriented and integrated curriculum open to doctoral candidates in all language education majors of the Faculty of Languages and Literatures at LMU Munich. Professors from German and English language education, as well as romance and classical languages, present a wide spectrum of theoretical positions, research methodology approaches, and practical applications. The interdisciplinarity of the courses focuses on the processes and results of teaching and learning language, literature and culture in first, second, and foreign languages, both in and outside of school contexts. Dissertation projects can deal with historical, theoretical, or empirical questions in language, literature or media didactics, as well as classroom research. Participation in this program requires fluency in German.
